Festa Italiana at Machiavelli Ristorante

Being a true foodie, I love to share my favourite experiences so you too can go and (over) indulge at some of my magical dining finds!!

We recently visited Maciavelli Ristorante…and oh my gosh, this was such an experience.

Machiavelli Ristorante is located in Sydney’s CBD down an unassuming set of stairs.  On entry you are greeted with a warm, friendly, very Italian dining environment with a central table of beautiful cheeses, meats and general goodness.  The waiters are not only exuding professionalism and dressed to perfection but I was instantly won over by the thick European accents.

My guest (hubby) and I decided to share an entrée to start – and when I say share, I mean he ate most and I struggled to try all aspects. Picture cartoon Tasmanian devil style action.

Entrée:

Beginning the evening with a selection of meats and cheeses with their Affettati and the special for the day of warm fresh figs wrapped in SAN Daniele prosciutto served in a Gorgonzola cheese sauce.  We were assisted in selecting a lovely white wine to accompany our starters.

Mains:

Risotto Funghi – this plate of goodness was not only super tasty but ample in serving size.  However, I did not share with my companion, much to his displeasure! For me, this was my favourite dish of the night!

Fusilli Beef Cheek – Kai thoroughly enjoyed his organic pasta and rich meaty ragu sauce.

Our waiter recommended we match our mains with a glass of red, which he assisted us to select and we weren’t disappointed!

Dessert:

Chocolate Mousse – amazingly light and delicate yet full of flavour and perfectly balanced.

Finally, I have only two questions left for you: Why not splurge a little more with an affogato? And what Italian meal is complete with out some limoncello?

Will I be back – gosh yes!! And I will bring my friends!  Thanks for having us Machiavelli and Polkadot Communications!
