If you have been following my blog for a little while, you will be well aware that I am a huge foodie. You have probably seen quite a few food reviews, juice cleanses and even a cooking video or two. Its safe to say I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and nothing gives me more joy than finding something that makes cooking more efficient – enter my new Whirlpool induction cooktop. (Insert applause). Up until now, I was a gas girl. I didn’t think there was anything better than cooking on a gas stove…alas I was wrong! Not only is the induction cook top quick but I feel like you have far more control over the temperature. Sheer joy!
I thought I would show you how easy it is to make my favourite protein slice. This thing is literally life changing. You will have no need to cave to a craving if you have this baby in the fridge. (Recipe below)
What you will need:
Fudge Ingredients
1/2 cup of almond meal
4 scoops of protein (your choice)
1/2 cup cacao powder
1 cup of coconut oil
1 cup of nut butter
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
2 tablespoons of coconut
1/3 cup of maple syrup (or sweetener of you choice)
1 tablespoon of maca superfood powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla bean powder
Raw Chocolate Toping
1/2 cup of cacao powder
1/2 cup of coconut oil
1/3 cup maple syrup (or sweetener of your choice)
Method:
In a small pan on a gentle heat melt coconut oil, liquid sweetener and nut butter. Once all are melted, allow to cool. In a bowl combine all other fudge ingredients and then add the cooled coconut oil and nut butter to the mix. Mix well and add more coconut oil if the mixture is too dry – if it is too wet, add a sprinkle of almond meal. Press mixture down into a slice tin (you can line with baking paper if you like) and smooth over with the back of a spoon. Place into the freezer while you make the “icing.”
Make icing by melting all ingredients in a small saucepan. Once melted, whisk together. Pour over fudge making sure it coats the top evenly. Top with cacao nibs for extra crunch.
Refrigerate for at lest two hours before cutting into bars.

Loved your yummy recipe
You’ll have to make it! Super easy and so delicious!!!
I love baking and being in the kitchen too and I am literally drooling over this recipe! It looks incredible and I love that it is healthy too. I love nuts and chocolate so this is the perfect combo for me to enjoy while not feeling too guilty. I can’t wait to get all these ingredients and start making this for myself. Hopefully I don’t eat the entire batch myself! Thanks for sharing as I always love new recipes. xoxo, Christine

These look so delicious! I love recipes like this that are healthy and fulfill your cravings. It is also great that these have protein in them. Sometimes it can get expensive to buy protein supplements like this, so it is nice that you have a recipe to make them! I will definitely need to try making these.

Wow does that look delicious! I’m totally loving this Whirlpool induction cooktop. I love the digital way that you adjust the temperature. We have Whirlpool in our home too but we don’t have this! Definitely something to look into! Also, I had no idea what a protein slice was until watching your video… for what ever reason I was expecting a slice of meat…. lol! So thank you for educating me on that! Definitely tastier! Making this at home for certain!

I am so glad you have steered away from the gas stove. I grew up using one, but there are definitely far better and more updated options out there! On another note, that protein slice looks so yummy and I love all the ingredients it has!
It looks absolutely delicious and healthy at the same time! I’m always looking for protein packed recipes and this one is a winner, I can’t wait to try it at home 🙂
I feel you the gas/induces cooktop… I go through phases though, I currently in the “fire is the best” one, but that’s likely to change with time.
Just like you, I was totally thinking gas was the only thing worth using when cooking as nothing beats the heat nor the pace, right? That’s until I moved into my new apartment and had my kitchen refurbished with an induction stove. It’s fast, safe and even saves a lot of energy, not to even mention the environment. Funny thing is I ended up with Whirlpool as well. 🙂 As for that protein yumminess I can only say I shouldn’t have read and watched this while I’m hungry as I’ve got huge cravings at the moment for what you just whipped together there!
